Polycarboxylate water reducers are mainly divided into two categories: conventional polycarboxylate water reducers and high-performance polycarboxylate water reducers. Conventional polycarboxylate water reducers have lower performance and are suitable for some general concrete projects; while high-performance polycarboxylate water reducers are more targeted and can be used in the preparation of high-performance concrete.

It is suitable for precast and cast-in-place concrete, reinforced concrete and prestressed concrete of high-speed railway, passenger dedicated line, industrial and civil buildings, roads, Bridges, ports, terminals, airports and other projects.

Production Process

‌The production process of polycarboxylic acid water reducer mainly includes three stages: raw material preparation, polymerization reaction and post-treatment. ‌

1.Main material preparation
First, measure the water and pump it into the reactor, turn on the agitator, then measure the macromonomer (TPEG) and manually put it into the reactor and stir and mix it evenly with water, control the stirring rate at 60r/min, and stir and mix for about 0.5h; then put the measured sodium methyl propylene sulfonate into the reactor and stir and mix for about 1.0h; the main material preparation is carried out under normal temperature and pressure conditions, and the materials in the reactor are all dissolved before preparing the main material. The main material preparation takes about 1.5h.

2.Preparation of auxiliary materials (material A and material B)
Preparation of material A: pump water into the material A mixing tank after metering, turn on the agitator, then meter acrylic acid into the material A mixing tank and mix it with water, control the stirring rate at 60r/min for mixing and stirring; after the addition of acrylic acid is completed, metered mercaptopropionic acid and vitamin C are added to the material A mixing tank in turn and stirred evenly. The preparation of material A takes about 1.0h, and the preparation of material A is completed after stirring.
Preparation of material B: pump water into the material B mixing tank after metering, turn on the agitator, then meter ammonium persulfate into the material B mixing tank and mix it with water, control the stirring rate at 60r/min for mixing and stirring, the preparation of material B takes about 0.5h, and the preparation of material B is completed after stirring evenly. The preparation of materials A and B is carried out under normal temperature and pressure conditions.

3.Polymerization reaction
After the raw materials are prepared, the polymerization reactor is powered on for heating. When the temperature of the materials in the reactor rises to 30℃, material A and material B are added under normal pressure to carry out polymerization reaction with the main materials in the reactor. The addition time of material A is controlled at about 180min, and the addition time of material B is controlled at about 210min. During the addition of material A and material B, pay attention to the temperature change and control the temperature of the reactor at 40-50℃. After all the materials A and B are added, continue to keep warm for 60min. The total polymerization reaction takes about 5.5h.

4.Alkali neutralization
After the polymerization reaction is completed, water and sodium hydroxide (flaky caustic soda) are measured and added into the reactor to neutralize the materials in the reactor. It takes about 0.5h. The pH value of the materials in the reactor after neutralization is controlled to be about 7.

Packing and Storage

 

This product is packed in multi-layer paper bags lined with polyethylene layer. Net weight 25KG.
Empty bags can be recycled or incinerated. Unopened packaging can be stored for several years. Open packaging can make the moisture content of this product affected by air humidity. Store in a cool, dry place away from sunlight. Avoid storage under pressure.
